“Another Day Goes By” is an extremely emotional piece for me. My father wrote the poem on a sheet of notebook paper and I was only made aware of the poem’s existence when my father suddenly passed away on May 30, 2008. He was 51 years old. My parents divorced when I was very young, and “Another Day Goes By” was written as a father’s reaction to the sudden loss of his children. It speaks of knowing that his children are growing up away from their father and of the realization of all that he is missing.
